Meet the Principal

Hello! My name is Mike Rayson. I have earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Indiana University Northwest. I began my career in education as a special education teacher with the Griffith Public Schools. It was there that I was fortunate enough begin my journey into school administration. In 2017 I joined the staff at Flint Lake Elementary in the Valparaiso Community Schools as a dean of students. From there I was provided the opportunity to become the principal of Central Elementary in 2019. Since the 2020 / 2021 school year I have have called Parkview home. 

 

As a father of two incredible kids, I know firsthand how much trust parents have in our teachers. The Parkview staff and I aim to uphold that trust and provide our students with an environment that is safe and conducive to learning everyday. At Parkview, we strive to encourage students to set goals and provide the supports necessary to reach those goals. Helping our kids realize their full potential and become the best versions of themselves is what drives us. 

 

I promise that you and your students will get our best everyday. They will be welcomed, safe, taught and loved from the moment they step though our doors and beyond. 

 

 

 ¡Hola! Mi nombre es Mike Rayson. Obtuve mi licenciatura y maestría en la Universidad de Indiana Northwest. Comencé mi carrera en educación como maestro de educación especial en las escuelas públicas de Griffith Indiana. Fue allí donde tuve la suerte de comenzar mi camino hacia la administración escolar. En el 2017 me uní al personal de Flint Lake Elementary en Valparaiso Community Schools como decano de estudiantes. En el 2019 tuve la oportunidad de desempeñar el cargo de director escolar de Central Elementary. A partir del año escolar 2020/2021 he tenido la fortuna de llamar a Parkview Elementary mi hogar.

Como padre de dos niños increíbles, sé de primera mano cuánta confianza tienen los padres en los educadores de nuestras comunidades. El personal de Parkview y yo tenemos como objetivo mantener esa confianza y brindarles a nuestros estudiantes un entorno seguro y propicio para el aprendizaje diario. En Parkview, nos esforzamos por animar a los estudiantes a establecer metas y proporcionar los apoyos necesarios para alcanzar esas metas. Lo que más nos motiva es ayudar a nuestros niños a desarrollar todo su potencial y convertirse en las mejores versiones de sí mismos.
